Pentagesic (Diclofenac & Paracetamol)
Patricia L., Saskatchewan:
When I was 30 weeks pregnant, about half a year ago, one day I suddenly developed sharp pain in my lower back. At first I paid no attention to it as I thought that was some temporary issue due to abrupt movement or uncomfortable pose when sleeping. But when after a week the symptoms didn't disappear I got worried. I went to the doctor, he carefully listened to me and told me that it was quite a frequent condition in pregnant women when due to the increased weight and changed stature some nerves get squeezed or jammed and cause severe pain. He also said that unfortunately we couldn't start any treatment course until the baby was born. So I had to live with that pain till the birthday of my son. And then as soon as I felt ready I went to the doctor again and he put me on Pentagesic. This medication is an effective pain killer and in addition it contains diclofenac that produces positive effect on different musculoskeletal disorders. After a week on Pentagesic I felt relief, movements were no longer that painful for me and I could lift things without sharp pain. After the treatment course was over I also underwent a course of manual therapy to consolidate the medication effectiveness and now I am as a newly born myself - flexible and full of energy, due to Pentagesic!
Tim Norfolk, Yellowknife:
I am 67 years of age and I often have more or less serious problems with my shabby musculoskeletal system. When the weather is about to change I have pain in my knees, when I rush to catch a bus then I might have my back absolutely stiff suddenly, when I am being to nosy trying to see what the neighbors are doing I could get my neck muscles strained. All these issues make me sad and I feel so old, but I do not like the feeling. Luckily when last year my wife got problems with her vertebrae our family doctor first put her on Pentagesic - a pain relief medication. It helped her overcome the initial symptoms and though that was not enough and later she had an operation, the pain killer was a good one. So I decided not to waste time on individual consultations and started taking her medication as she no longer needed it. For me Pentagesic is a real problem solver. It relieves the pain quickly and causes no side effects what is a great benefit at my age, when you do not get endless diarrhea from every drug you take, don't get shaky hands and don't spend sleepless nights. So, I consider Pentagesic to be an excellent solution for shabby and grumbling creatures like me.
Duncan S., NY:
In 2010 I had a car accident, nothing too serious but I got my back injured and after that accident I often have pain in my spine, in different sections. Sometimes it is neck pain after unusual physical activity, at times chest pain after I lift something really heavy, but most often it is lower back pain and there doesn't necessarily have to be any clear reason. My doctor explained me that due to some shifts in the spine as a result of the car accident I have these problems with my musculoskeletal system and the best solution would be regular manual therapy and massage to bring the occurrence of pain to minimum and pain relief medications to get quick help when I am in pain. After several experiments I have chosen Pentagesic as the most acceptable medication for me - it is mild but effective, causes no side effects and is safe for my heart. It has been about a year since I am on Pentagesic and I am not going to change it for something else as long as it remains very effective and answers all my needs.
Craig Richardson, IL:
Some 2 or 3 months ago I had an outbreak of arthritis when my left knee got swollen and caused me a lot of troubles. It was very painful for me to walk and stand, and in general any movement caused unpleasant sensations. I was prescribed with some ointment to put on my knee twice a day - it was aimed to eliminate the inflammation but it required some time to produce the desirable effect and I asked my doctor for a pain-killer to manage the pain while the ointment works. So I was put on Pentagesic and I am absolutely satisfied with this medication. It is really the most effective pain killer that I have ever tried. Pentagesic is a combination of diclofenac and paracetamol and this power of two is the secret of its effectivity. Besides Pentagesic is almost the only medication that has no side effects on me. All other meds I have used to cope with arthritis would cause fatigue, intestine irritation and mouth dryness. It's quite an exotic combination of side effects, but I have them almost with any other drug. Now my arthritis stepped aside and I am no longer on the painkiller, but if the disease would come back, I will use Pentagesic again without any hesitations.
Brenda T., Hampton:
I am 72 years of age. When I was young and physically active, hundreds of years ago as it seems, I used to play football and ride bicycle all my free time. I even went to France to take part in the Tour de France as an amateur - that was great fun for us. But now that time is far away and all I have left is my arthritis and other problems with my joints. My reminiscence is especially vivid and bright on rainy days, when the humidity is next to 100% and the weather leaves much to be desired. On such days my joints sing the song of the bygone activity. My doctor prescribes me with pain killing meds for such cases as nothing more could be done - this disease is called aging. Some meds are effective, others are not. But now I am on Pentagesic and this is the best by far. It helps me forget about the joint pain and enjoy the days I have left. With other meds I could have increased blood pressure, fatigue or stomach pain. Others could make me burn the midnight oil for several days as I couldn't fall asleep, so excited I was. With Pentagesic there are no such problems. I take a pill and the nagging pain disappears, I can sleep, walk and do my daily business without any problems.
Tim Cross, Virginia:
After the car accident I had 2 years ago I have constant problems with my lower back, in spite of the long treatment course I got. Sometimes the pain is so bad that I have to stay in bed and go on a sick leave. It is not very convenient for me as no one really needs such an employee. When I sit still for a long time it is a real problem for me to stand up afterwards. Sometimes I have such bad lower back pain at night that I can not move and I lay still till the morning comes and my husband wakes up to help me get up. But I have found a solution for myself. Now I am on Pentagesic - this medication is really a great option in my case. I take it in the evening before going to bed. It helps me get rid of the pain and sleep well through the night and it cools down the inflammation while the med is a combination of paracetamol and diclofenac - this turned out to be the key solution to my lower back problem. I am really afraid that my body would get used to this medication and stops reacting to it, as it has happened to many other drugs I used to take before. But it's been more than half a year since I am on Pentagesic and everything is fine. I really hope there will be no changes in its effectiveness as I am unlikely to get rid of the consequences of my trauma and therefore I am really dependent on quality pain killers.
